Prince Baelon, Queen Alysanne & the Dragon Vhaegar; 'The Long Reign - Jaehaerys and Alysanne' Fire and Blood

Baelon, Alysanne & Vhaegar
Prince Baelon, his dragon Vhaegar and Queen Alysanne
This drawing represents a scene depicting Alysanne Targaryen, known as Good Queen Alysanne, embracing and comforting his son Baelon, also known as Baelon the Brave.

From George R.R. Martin's book Fire & Blood, the history of the Targaryen dynasty that ruled Westeros for three hundred years.

Baelon has just returned to King's Landing after having killed countless Myrish enemies with Dark Siter (his Valyrian steel longsword), while his dragon Vhagar burned their fleet.

He fought, in what was to become known as Prince Baelon's Wroth, to avenge his brother Aemon previously killed dishonorably by Myrish invaders.

Reference excerpt from the books: The Long Reign Jaehaerys and Alysanne: Policy, Progeny, and Pain; Fire and Blood

Baelon the Brave played his part in the slaughter, with Dark Sister in his hand.

When he returned to King’s Landing with his brother’s corpse, the smallfolk lined the streets screaming his name and hailing him as a hero.

But it is said that when he saw his mother again, he fell into her arms and wept I slew a thousand of them, he said but it will not bring him back.

And the queen stroked his hair and said I know, I know.
